Hand/Eye
For 25 years I have been teaching photography in the high school at a N-12 school. During that time, I never really paid much attention to the very little children around me.
Since the tragic murders of the first graders at Sandy Hook, my awareness has changed dramatically. The little children I see in the corridors and on the playgrounds have become very important, precious small ones to protect from harm.
This portfolio of 12 images, printed on Hahnemuele photo paper, was made with an old Bakelite camera, which I modified to create circular negatives on film. I hand cut and assembled each cabinet card.
The portfolio and and attendant pieces are acid free and archival.
